Africa: A story from the mission field

Greetings in Jesus name.

We thank God we are doing well.  My wife and the kids are all doing fine. We thank God for that.

“Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill-country: and see the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many; and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds; and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land… So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.”

Numbers 13:17 -21

We did this same thing in villages that the Lord led us to go spy on the activities Satan is doing there. We prayed before we decided to go because in these villages there is a stronghold of Satan.

• The first mosque to be built in our country was in this village.

• The first Quran to arrive in Africa from Arab came in this village.

• That Quran was the third copy from the original Quran which Muhammad had.

• It was brought here in this village while Mohammad was still alive.

For many years since then, Christianity has been a challenge to bring to this village. Many pastors and missionaries have been trying to take the gospel in this place, but most of them have been stoned and killed before even they share the gospel. The people in the village have given human scarifies and vowed that Christianity will never enter their land, and they are very committed to make sure their vows stands firm.

We decided to listen and obey the voice of God to risk our lives and go in those places, which we clearly knew were a dangerous field for us to go.

Traveling to get into that place is a challenge, roads are very bad and in some places, we could not even take a car with us. We had to ride a bicycle for a long distance before we got in the place. The whole team had to change their names from our normal names like Peter to Ramadhan, Samson to Abdullah, etc, for us to be accepted in that village. We had to introduce ourselves with those Muslim names. We did not identify ourselves as preachers. Sometimes we had to introduce ourselves as the scientific researchers etc. to get through many barriers. We hired a small car, which was not strong enough to handle the kind of roads we were using.

When we arrived in that village as spies who wanted to learn all the strongholds of Satan, we wanted to see how we would attack his camp and bring destructions in the kingdom of Satan. We were able to penetrate in that village, and at first, we were warmly welcomed as researchers. As we were preparing to go for supper, the elders of the village came to us and said, each one of us will be given a girl to sleep with her for that night, because that is a custom of a village for any new comer who visits the village for the first time. They said, it is also a symbol of showing hospitality to the visitors and by doing that, they will be pleasing the ancestors. We said NO THANK YOU! But they insisted. They said, there is no way we can sleep in that village for the first time without sleeping with their girls. One old man said “don’t worry it is free, you don’t have to pay anything to have our girls”. Then we knew we were in the trap of Satan. We started praying silently and seriously.

The Lord gave wisdom to one of us. He told the elders, ok no problem, let us get some time to rest then, you will bring them later when it is dark. They elders were very happy because we accepted and they went. We left the place that night before they came, we drove to the next village to escape them and the temptation which was facing us. The next morning we came back to continue with our survey, but when the people in the village saw us, they were chased us with stones. We ran and left the village and we went to another village. We really need prayer to go back to this chronic village.

We went to other villages which have a little bit of Light. The above are churches from three different villages we surveyed. Among the 16 villages we surveyed, there is only 5 churches with less than 30 church members in total. The all district has 700,000 people. There is no ratio at all.

We have arrived this evening (our time) it is our prayer and desire to go back and put a prayer camp in those villages to cast all the power of Satan and with the villages for Christ.

“Then he said to them, "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.”

Luke 10:2
Prayer needs:

1. Please Pray that God hear our cries and provide a car for us so as we will serve him more effectively.

2. Pray for our Training and prayer camp for our pastors who are serving God in rural areas. The training will cost $70 per person, which will be for Accommodation, meals, and transport for the pastors from the villages who will come to attend this training. Most of our pastors are from rural areas. They cannot afford to cover all $70 to attend this important training. We have asked each member to try to cover $20. We need to raise $50 for each person who will attend the training.
